Striking in appearance, Chu-lin is a beautiful American-born, extremely brilliant, competent and courageous Chinese woman.  Almost as tall as Bret with an hour-glass figure, her smooth, olive-tone facial features are framed within flowing black hair and accented with gorgeous green eyes. 

Chu, though not directly exposed to the jeopardy that confronts her husband while engaged in the vulnerabilities of espionage he infrequently encounters, is actively involved in his support one way or another. When he needs logistics support, she reliably takes charge and gets him where and when he needs to be. If he needs wisdom beyond his own, she puts her intellect into action, saving the day on more than one occasion.  If her presence is needed at his side during social or diplomatic activities, Chu always manages to be an asset that is more than eye-candy. Though direct hands-on involvement is rare, she has proved she can hide covert listening devices as well as he can. Whereas Bret is uncomfortable in front of a computer, Chu is a budding social media influencer who quickly learns how to game that system.
